R.J. REYNOLDS TOBACCO COMPANY SELECTS MICHAEL C. FINA TO PROVIDE EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION SERVICE AWARDS PROGRAM
NEW YORK, NY (February 20, 2007) — Michael C. Fina, a leading
provider of worldwide corporate employee recognition programs, today
announced that R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company (R.J. Reynolds), the
second-largest tobacco company in the United States, has selected the
company as its vendor for its Employee Service Awards Program.
R.J.
Reynolds turned to Michael C. Fina to design and implement the
company’s service awards program using its E-ServiceRecognition
program. This program provides R.J. Reynolds with a customized Web
solution offering on-line capabilities to manage the program,
communicate with its employees and allow employees to select and redeem
service awards. Awards for its program will be selected from Michael C.
Fina’s extensive inventory to match the lifestyles of R.J. Reynolds’
diverse workforce.
Both Charles Fina, executive vice president
and Michael Fina, vice president, are closely involved with the design
of this new program. Michael C. Fina’s goal is to provide R. J.
Reynolds with a world-class customer care program that is easy to
administer.
“Michael C. Fina’s program allows us to engage our
managers in the awards process and it also provides us the ability to
survey employees and get their feedback, and these were among the
reasons we selected the company,” said Angela Mannino, vice president
of human resources for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco.
Mannino also
said that the company’s E-ServiceRecognition program provides an
extensive reporting capability, is flexible and is supported by an
easy-to-understand invoicing procedure.
The service award
process at R.J. Reynolds starts with an early recognition program for
newly hired employees. Employees also receive service awards at the
one-, three- and five-year milestones, continuing every five years
throughout the employee’s career with the company.
“In any
service awards program, it is important for employees to understand the
value the company places on their work,” Mannino said. “Recognizing our
employees at various intervals with the high-quality gift selection
from Michael C. Fina is one way R.J. Reynolds accomplishes that
objective.”
“We’re honored that R.J. Reynolds has selected us to
implement its employee-recognition program,” said George Fina,
president of Michael C. Fina. “Our goal is to streamline its
involvement in the program implementation process through our flexible,
technology-driven programs.”
