MICHAEL C. FINA CONTINUES PARTNERSHIP WITH VIRTUAL ENTERPRISES

Company Designed, Produced and Donated The Crystal Leadership Awards
Presented to Three Leaders for their Extraordinary Commitment to the Program

NEW YORK, NY (April 24, 2007)  — Michael C. Fina, a leading provider of worldwide corporate employee recognition programs, today announced that it designed, produced and donated  “Crystal Leadership Awards” specifically for Virtual Enterprises International, a unique business program pioneered in New York City high schools. The Crystal Leadership Awards were presented to Dr. Eddy Bayardelle, President of Merrill Lynch Foundation, Carmen Fariña, Former Deputy Chancellor for Teaching and Learning, New York City Department of Education and Russell Simmons, Chairman and CEO, Rush Communications. All three award recipients were recognized for their extraordinary commitment to the program.

The Virtual Enterprise Program offers students the opportunity to experience in a simulated business environment all facets of being an employee in a firm. This unique program has drawn national attention as an applied learning instructional model for business, economics, finance and career education. The concept has grown in the U.S. to include programs in over 300 secondary and post-secondary schools. Through its participation in “European,” an international organization of practice firms around the world, U.S. networks engage in international commerce through their contact with these firms and their participation in practice firm trade fairs.

Michael C. Fina has been involved in the Virtual Enterprise simulated business program for several years. The program is operated and managed by students with the guidance of a teacher and a business partner. “Michael C. Fina is proud to be involved in a program that enables students to be engaged in every aspect of business, from human resources and accounting to product development, and sales and marketing,” said Michael A. Fina, Vice President.  “This workplace simulation is an excellent opportunity for students to understand how employees, workgroup teams, and departments interact with each other and work together,” commented Fina.

According to Iris Blanc, Director, Virtual Enterprises International, New York City Department of Education, Michael C. Fina has provided numerous internships to students so they could truly make the transition from school to career.  “We’re delighted that Michael C. Fina has been part of the business mentoring aspect of the program and so very pleased with the work and craftsmanship that went into the design of the Crystal Leadership Awards.”
